Carlene
Carlene Rittenberry was working as a middle-school librarian and teacher before quitting her job, selling her house, and moving to Europe for a year of travel with her sister and nephew. She spent a life-changing year abroad teaching in Bratislava, Slovakia, after college, worked as a flight attendant for several years, and just last summer had the solo trip of a lifetime working at a horse riding stable on a Greek island. Carlene has two grown children and is looking for a place to call home after this grand adventure.
Kim
Kim Holland caught the travel bug at the early age of eleven during her first trip to Europe. Feeling most at home on the road, she turned her passion into a career as a professional pilot. She has lived abroad in both Bratislava, Slovakia, and Munich, Germany, and hopes to pass her love of travel to her son in this year abroad. Kim lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and son when she is not out seeing the world.

Harrison
Harrison is a fourth grader who loves airplanes, hunting, and fishing. He has already realized one of his lifelong dreams on this trip–flying upstairs on a 747 for the transatlantic flight. He is having an amazing time in Europe apart from missing his dog, Finney (he asks to bring home every stray cat, dog, and pigeon we see in Rome).
